Tubing Adapters

The tubing head adapter provides a transition between the tubing head and the Christmas tree. The bottom adapter connection matches the tubing head, and the top adapter connection matches the tree. Tubing head adapters are available for all types of single and multi-string completions, including those using electric submersible pumps, packers, down hole control valves and gas lift valves. These adapters come with threaded, flanged or studded-flange top connections. Most tubing head adapters are available with hydraulic supply inlets for down hole control lines. If the customer requires, DELTA also supplies various types of adapters that will accommodate continuous control-line capabilities. Following you will find the most commonly used types.

Basic Adapter

Simple transition piece between the tubing head and the tree, used with a TC -1A tubing hanger. Available with threaded, flanged, or studded top connection.

BO-2 Adapter

The BO-2 Tubing Head Adapter and BO-2 Hanger Coupling with backpressure valve preparation, utilizes an ACME thread makeup which provides ease of installation and reliable high pressure connection.

With wrap around tubing hanger and BO-2 Hanger coupling installed, the use of a backpressure valve in hanger coupling provides positive well control until the Christmas tree is installed. The backpressure valve can be installed for the purposes of valve repair, removal, installation or changing out of the complete tree. All BO-2 Adapters are equipped with test ports for testing seals between the casing and the tubing.

BO-10 Adapter

Used with the BO-10 tubing coupling. It is similar to the BO-2 adapter, except it is installed with the tree without rotation. It comes with a studded top connection only.

B-2-S Adapter

B-2-S Tubing Adapters have API flanged bottom and studded-flange top connections. These bonnets have female sealing threads to suspend tubing over TC-1W wraparound hanger packoff or can be used with the TC-1A tubing hanger..

B-2-P Adapter

The Tubing Adapter for dual completion provides a safe and easy solution for working pressures up to 5,000 PSI.

Bottom connection is a studded flange to be directly assembled to the tubing head upper flange. The bolt studded top connection is ready to receive two segmented flanged ends recessed body master valves. The internal bottom design of these bonnets is prepared to receive sealing sleeves threaded on the tubing hanger, to confine the fluid pressure in each string.

ESP Adapter

ESP adapters have seal bores to accommodate both a tubing hanger neck seal and an electrical power feed-thru device. Standard ESP adapters are equipped with rotating flanges to mate to the tubing head, minimizing concerns over alignment issues. Positive alignment can be obtained through the use of optional features in the mating ESP hanger. ESP adapters can be supplied to match standard tubing heads rated to 3,000 and 5,000 psi working pressure.
