Delta Line Pressure Operated SSVs (DLPO)

The Delta Line pressure operated (DLPO) Surface Safety Systems are self contained, hydraulically operated flow line control valves arranged to protect a facility from the effects of pipeline failures. The primary function of the Line Pressure Operated Surface Safety System is to detect any abnormal high or low flow line pressure deviations and respond to it by shutting down the stream line.

The DLPO valve is an actuated gate valve controlled by hydraulic pressure fed from the pipeline stream. The DLPO is normally closed preventing the flow from the up stream to down stream, and it will open only if the pressure amount of the upstream side falls within a specific pressure range. This pressure range is defined by the user by two pressure sensors, one for high pressure sensing (High Pressure Pilot) and one for low pressure sensing (Low Pressure Pilot). Each pilot has its own technical function and its set pressure knob.

The DLPO valve monitors the pressure on the upstream side of the valve (Valve Inlet) through a stainless steel piping system for high and/or low pressure deviations from the preset conditions and closes the valve automatically in the event the pressure is not within the set range. The low pressure controller will close the safety valve by exhausting the actuator whenever the line pressure drops below predetermined levels. Similarly the high controller will close the safety valve by exhausting the actuator whenever the line pressure exceeds the predetermined levels. In both cases the valve will remain closed until it is re-set manually. The safety valve is a reverse acting gate valve with an actuator designed to fail to a safe condition (can be arranged for open or close) if there was loss of control pressure. Our control devices are installed to provide the necessary safety valve response by isolating and depressurizing the operating control circuit pressure to the surface safety valve.

The controll method typically employed by LPO systems is especially well suited for remote unattended locations. Process media pressure directly from the flowline is the operating supply source utilized and the design of the actuator is such as to ensure long life with this operation fluid.

Available in 2" through 7 1/16" nominal valve sizes with up to 15,000 PSI working pressure.
